Custom steel structures in Montréal — design, fabrication, installation

A steel structure is calculated, fabricated to the millimetre and installed under licence. At PacoMetal all three happen under one roof, with an engineer and draftspeople in-house.

Frames, reinforcement columns and beams, mezzanines, platforms, heavy equipment supports: projects delivered for the City of Montréal, ÉTS, Atlas Copco and a fire station in service.

What we build

  • Frames in HSS, I-beams and profiles, for industrial and commercial buildings.
  • Columns, beams and pillars for structural reinforcement of existing buildings.
  • Mezzanines, platforms and walkways with guardrails and industrial stairs.
  • Supports and bases for heavy equipment: compressors, tanks, machinery, impact-resistant structures.
  • Anchors, base plates and bolted or welded connections, to stamped drawings.

How a project runs

Design and calculations

Site survey, 3D modelling, calculations and shop drawings. Plans that require it are stamped by an engineer before the first cut.

Shop fabrication

Cutting, drilling, assembly and MIG, TIG or flux-cored welding depending on thickness. Dimensional inspection before finishing.

Finishing

Primer and industrial paint, or hot-dip galvanizing for outdoor use. Safety paint on request.

Installation under RBQ licence

Lifting, anchoring and placement by our crews, coordinated with your operations. As-built drawings at the end.
